Types of Hackers
There are many different kind of hackers in the world according to their motive and type of work.
White Hat Hacker
A White Hat Hacker also known as Ethical Hacker. Ethical Hacker are a computer security expert, who specializes in penetration testing and in other testing methodologies to ensure the security of an organization’s information systems. They are good guys in the world of hackers that help the people hide their precious information. They use their skills for good. They find vulnerabilities or loopholes and immediately report them to the admin. White Hat Hackers or Ethical Hacker are also called penetration tester,sneakers,read teams,or tiger teams.
Black Hat Hacker
A black hat hacker, also known as a cracker or a dark side hacker is someone who uses his skills with a criminal intent. A black hat hacker is a person who attempts to find computer security vulnerabilities and exploit them for personal financial gain or other malicious reasons.
They are computer security hackers that break into computers and networks or also create computer viruses. The term “black hat” comes from old westerns where the bad guys usually wore black hats and the good guys wore white ones.
They break into secure networks to destroy, modify, or steal data, or to make the networks unusable for authorized network users.
Grey Hat Hacker
Grey Hat Hacker is a combination of White Hat Hacker and Black Hat Hacker. Grey hat hackers are hackers that perform both malicious activities and helpful ones.They usually do not hack for personal gain or have malicious intentions. They sell the information of loopholes or vulnerabilities – not to the terrorists, but to the government. The governments then use those loopholes or vulnerabilities to hack into the systems of adversaries or criminal suspects.
A blue hat hacker is someone outside computer security consulting firms who bug tests a system prior to its launch, looking for exploits so they can be closed. Blue hat hackers are security professionals that are invited by Microsoft to expose vulnerabilities in Windows products.
Script Kiddie is a non-expert who uses existing computer scripts or codes, pre-packaged automated tools written by others, to hack into computers, lacking the expertise to write their own. Hence the term script(i.e a pre-arranged plan or set of activities ) kiddie (i.e. kid,child an individual lacking knowledge and experience, immature).
